FAQ's for the Equine Sports Massage Certificate
How long will the massage certificate take me to complete?
You have 24 months to complete the certificate but many people complete it within 12 months.
Do I need prior experience?
No, you don’t need any prior horse experience but the massage certificate requires horse handling experience
Is it online only?
No. All the theory is online but there is a practical component which is face to face
Where is the practical?
Practicals are offered in NSW, QLD, VIC, WA, SA and TAS
what if I don't finish the course in time?
If you need to extend you allocated course time please contact us to approve. We have many extension options.
When can I start?
As soon as you are ready ! We can get you started straight away with the online components.
What payments do you offer?
We accept credit card, direct deposit, PayPal, and Afterpay (for certain courses)
Is there a horse owners massage course?
Yes. There is an online only Horse owners massage course.
Can you get insurance as a therapist?
Yes, there are many companies that offer Insurance for therapists in Australia.
What will the course give me?
At completion of the course you will be a qualified Equine Sports Massage Therapist through Equestricare.
Do you offer Recognition of prior learning (RPL)?
Yes , we require certified copies of formal qualifications accompanying your application. Where relevant to the course of current enrolment, some credits or exemptions may be granted.
Is there an advanced course?
Not yet, but we are currently working developing a government approved Diploma of Equine Allied Health (Horse Massage)
What other courses do you offer for professionals?
A Certificate in Tissue Mobilisation Techniques and a certificate in Photonic Therapy.
How do I sign up?
Click on the course you want to do and click subscribe, purchase it in full from the shop (workshops section) or email info@equestricare.com.au
what other courses do you offer just for horse owners?
We have many online courses in Massage, stretching, Equine Fitness, Photonic Therapy, Understanding the Equine Back and more.
I can't find my login details, what do I do?
If you cannot find your login details or are having trouble logging in then please email info@equestricare.com.au and we will resend them to you.
Do I have to complete the modules in a certain order?
No. The modules can be completed in any order you like. We do recommend the anatomy module first.
what course materials am I supplied with?
Course Materials are supplied in an online environment, unless otherwise stated in the course description, and are available for viewing online and may not be downloaded or printed, unless otherwise specified. You will receive a course manual at the practical and you will also receive a hard copy of the Equestricare massage techniques book and DVD.
Are you accredited with any associations?
Yes. We are proudly accredited with ETAA (Equine Therapies Association of Australia) and IICT (International Institute of Complimentary Therapies)
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. We have fortnightly, monthly and quarterly plans available through PayPal.
what if I can't make it to the practical?
Please email us at your earliest convenience so we can try and arrange an alternate date to suit. Although we will do our best to fit you into another practical, this may not always be an option due to travel restrictions and availability.
